About
Adaptive Sports Military Program
Helping our wounded service members regain strength and independence through sports and outdoor activities.
In partnership with the Department of Veterans Affairs and our many local partner organizations, Adaptive Sports Northwest provides opportunities for veterans with disabilities and injured active-duty military personnel to participate in adaptive sports and recreation. Among others, ASNW has partnered with the following organizations to make possible our current offering of programming for military community:
- Tualatin Hills Parks & Recreation
- Portland State University
- Portland Parks & Recreation
- Portland Pounders Wheelchair Rugby
- Oregon Bike Racing Association
- Portland International Raceway
- eNRGY Kayaking
- City of Eugene Adaptive Recreation
- Cascade Sports Performance
- Adventures Without Limits
- WAV Transport
Adaptive sports and recreation can improve the quality of life by improving health and wellness and by connecting Veterans to a community network of athletes with disabilities. Veterans who have participated in our programming include novice athletes looking for recreational opportunities to become more active as well those looking to train and compete at the top echelon in their sport, the Summer and Winter Paralympics.
Our programs include Goalball, Handcycling, Power Soccer, Sitting Volleyball, Swimming, Track & Field, Wheelchair Basketball, and Wheelchair Rugby. If you have questions, please contact us via email info@adaptivesportsnw.org.
