Adaptive Cycling / Handcycling
Handcycling is a great way to get out and explore your community and get in a workout. It’s a rapidly growing sport accessible to anyone. ASNW has handcycles available to rent for athletes to try throughout the year.
Adaptive Bike Clinic
Early June each year, ASNW co-hosts one of the largest adaptive bike clinics in the Northwest. During this day you can try out adaptive bikes from multiple organizations, including Shriners Hospital for Children and Portland Parks & Recreation.
This clinic is intended to introduce options for recreational adaptive bikes, typically for ages 6 and up. No registration is required. Bicycle helmets are required. Some will be available to use. Family members and friends, please bring your bikes and helmets if you have them.
PDX Handcycling Series
During the summer, ASNW hosts weekly handcycling sessions at Portland International Raceway’s 2-mile track. Last summer saw over 100 cyclists of all abilities, ranging in experience from novices trying handcycling for the first time to World Champion rider Will Groulx.
